If I am accepted in the program, what are the expectations?
Students who are selected into the Targeted Sports Program would be expected to be playing their chosen sport in a local competition. Successful applicants are required to pay a fee and be available to represent Terrigal High School in any Tuggerah Lakes Zone, Sydney North, New South Wales Combined High Schools, New South Wales All Schools Carnival, game or competition for which they are selected. It is compulsory that Targeted Sports Program students attend and compete to the best of their ability at school Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming carnivals. Students gaining selection into future representative teams will be expected to meet relevant obligations.
Students in the program are required to demonstrate a satisfactory level of achievement in all of their subjects. Misbehaviour, or failure to meet subject requirements, i.e. assessment work/homework, may result in removal of the student from the program. Poor behaviour will not be tolerated and student’s progress at school will be evaluated on a regular basis. Targeted Sports students who have been suspended from school will automatically be suspended from the Targeted Sports Program for one week. Repeat offenders will face removal from the program.
