Touch Football

Jeremy Belcher

An Australian U20 Mens Touch Football representative, Jeremy possess outstanding athletic qualities and an extensive knowledge of the sport. Since taking up coaching junior touch, Jeremy has had success with the Central Coast Dolphins Touch Association. In 2019/2020 Jeremy was the assistant coach of the Boys U18 team that has qualified for the NSW Touch Football State Final Series.

 

As a player, Jeremy made valuable contributions to the Sydney North Boys Touch Teams throughout his years of representation. An exceptional leader and sportsman, he played at both U/15 and opens level, making NSWCHS teams in both divisions. As captain of the open Boys Team in 2019, Jeremy maintained the highest standards of sportsmanship and he was rewarded with selection in the NSWCHS Team for the second successive year. Jeremy captained the NSWCHS team in 2019 to a National title. At this tournament he was named MVP of the side. 

 

A member of the school leadership team, Jeremy always represented his school with pride. Under his leadership the Narara Valley High School team had great success in the CHS Open Boys Touch Knockout. They won the event in 2017 & 2018 and were runners-up in 2019. Jeremy was named Player of the Final in 2018.

 

Jeremy represents the Central Coast Dolphins Touch Association at Mens Premier League Level and he has been named in the NSW U20 Mens State of Origin Squad.

 

​Jeremy is currently studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at University.

Chris Heighington

Rugby League

Chris is an elite athlete and a Sports High Performance coach. Well known for winning the National Rugby League Premiership in 2005 with the West Tigers and again in 2016 with the Cronulla Sharks, Chris is one of only 29 players to amass over 300 NRL first grade games. Chris represented NSW Country in 2008 and 2011, he made three appearances for England in 2011, was selected in the Prime Ministers XIII in 2008 and 2009 and in the NRL All Stars in 2013.

 

Chris has helped numerous athletes as a Sports Performance Coach with his unique combination of discipline and passion, coupled with knowledge and experience from more than 20 years competing and training at the highest NRL level. He has coached beginners, emerging and established athletes covering a range of sports including rugby league, surfing, cricket, soccer and skate boarding.

 

Chris is committed and passionate about developing and mentoring athletes. He is also passionate about ensuring children develop age appropriately within sport. A qualified Level 1 and Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach, Chris has also completed his Certificate III and IV in fitness.

Netball

Nerida Stewart

Nerida has been involved with Netball for over 35 years as a player, selector and coach. Nerida was appointed as Head Coach of the New South Wales Institute of Sport Netball program from 2017-2019. During her time with the program she was identified in the Netball Australia and NSW Targeted Coaches programs. 

 

Nerida took on the Head Coach position of the NSW U17 and NSW U19 Netball Australia National Championships Teams, where she helped the U19 team to win silver. During this time she a member of the coaching team for the 2018/2019 National U17 Camp.

 

Nerida has had the honour of working wth Australian coaching icons Lisa Alexander, Julie Fitzgerald and Jill MacIntosh. These experiences along with many others have played a large part in shaping her coaching style and ethos. 

 

Whilst on court, Nerida played alongside legends of the game such as Liz Ellis, Catherine Cox, Megan Anderson and Alison Broadbent to name a few. She represented the Sydney Swifts and NSW from U19 to Open level. She was a member of the Australian U21 squad and was an invitee to train with the Diamonds squad in 1994.

 

Since retiring from her playing career, Nerida coached junior netballers on the Central Coast at club and representative level before heading the Central Coast Heart U20 Premier League team in 2016/2017. She currently holds her elite coaching qualifications and was appointed as the Opens coach of the Panthers Premier League Team for the 2020 season. In 2022 Nerida has taken on the role of NSW Mens Open coach for the National Championships

Mikko von Lueders

Basketball

Mikko has been passionate about basketball since his childhood in Los Angeles. He has coached for over 25 years and currently is the Head Coach for the Central Coast Basketball Crusaders Youth League Men’s Team as well assisting with the Championship Women’s team. He is also the Head Coach for the Rebels U16 Boys Team.

 

He earned his Masters Degree in Sports Coaching from Sydney University as well as a Level 2 Accreditation through Basketball Australia. He is the Head Coach for Swish Consulting which offers elite individual coaching programs as well as delivering specialists camps and clinics.

 

Mikko has been lucky to be involved with the game around the world; first playing and coaching in the United Kingdom before the game took him to Asia and ultimately Australia. 

 

Since arriving here, Mikko has actively led Rep Teams in Sydney before making the move to the Central Coast 4 years ago. Now he is focussed on helping the young ballers on the Coast achieve hoop dreams!​
